menu planner refillable frame

This is just a simple little project.
I made a frame using a remnant of fabric and a piece of thin cardboard.
It stays permanently on the bulletin board in the kitchen, allowing me to change the different menu plans for each 2 week period, just by slipping the paper corners into slots cut in the fabric covered cardboard.

Materials I used were:
Fabric
Thin cardboard
Paper backed fusible web
X-acto knife
Cutting mat
Quilting ruler
Dressmaker's pencil
Rotary cutter
Iron/ironing board

I traced the size of the cardboard rectangle I wanted onto the fusible web. Cut out the piece of fusible web.
Then, following the manufacturers directions, carefully adhered it to the fabric and then the fabric to the cardboard.
I trimmed the edges and straightened everything neatly by using a quilter's ruler and rotary cutter with a cutting mat.

Next, I put down a pattern of the size of paper I wanted for my menu to determine where to cut the slots in the cardboard.
I marked the placement with two dots.
Using an x-acto knife and quilter's ruler and cutting mat, I cut a line between the two dots to make the frame slots.

To hang it up on the bulletin board, I made co-ordinating tacks. These are similar to the felt flower tacks but are felt apple shapes that are assembled and glued onto thumbtacks with craft glue.
