Easter tree

Last week, during the weather gorgeousness that was spring break, Ethan and I carried a basket of yarn and eggs and coffee cans headed for the recycling bin to the back porch and made an Easter tree.

We wrapped the outside of the containers with jute and yarn. Ethan repurposed an old Halloween luminary by wrapping it with jute twine and covering the bat and star cut outs.

The fates of late winter winds and roofers working gave us the most perfect dogwood branch to use as the tree. We rescued it from the front yard and have been saving it for weeks.

We put it into floral foam and then filled the container with as many rocks and stones as we could. The more bottom heavy the container, the better.

The eggs are covered with tacky glue and wrapped with yarn just like the containers.
So far we have a dozen.
