In the early morning hours of Sunday, we got in the car and drove into Philadelphia to see the Flower Show. I didn't think I would get a chance to see it this year and was so happy for the chance outing to one of my favorite events.

After the winter we've had here in southeastern Pennsylvania, it was literally a breath of Spring. Warm citrus colors and the bright settings of the garden displays, drew us all into a dreamy intoxication of future growing months. If only for a few lovely hours.
Still, those days for real are not that far away.
There were so many beautiful exhibits. A few of our favorites were the Soup and Salad: From Camden to the World, The Atlantic Highway from Maine to Florida with its alligators and lobsters, and We Love You Yeah, Yeah, Yeah with its super keen bike with a basket full of flowers (shown farther down) and nods to the Beatles.

This is one of the challenge class entries of front porch displays. They were all really beautiful, but I really want to live in the house that has a front porch like this. It really inspired me to concentrate on our front porch this year and make it a sweet little outdoor room as much as I am able.
There were so many interesting vendor displays as well. I think it's time to start making my outdoor inspiration notebook. I left the Convention Center with so many ideas of things I would like to do like making a green roof for the garage and rain barrels to collect rainwater. I saw a super sweet chicken coop too, but I'm not quite ready for that yet.
Maybe next year. :)
